3 Common Orthopedic Injuries

Orthopedic injuries are anything that involves the musculoskeletal system. These injuries can occur through trauma, degenerative conditions, tumors, congenital disorders, or infections. Identifying and treating these injuries early in the process can help with eliminating pain and restoring individual quality of life for that person.

1) Knee Injuries

You might think that only athletes suffer from serious knee injuries, but they actually occur in all walks of life. Torn MCLs, ACLs, and meniscus usually require surgery to repair and you will probably have to go through months of rehab before you get your knee feeling strong once again.

2) Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is a relatively common condition where too much tension ends up in the bow of the foot. The end result is that small tears form on the bottom of the foot, making it very painful to walk. For the most part, you can treat this condition by resting and foot and investing in orthotic insoles. In some cases, however, surgery becomes necessary to relieve the pain.

3) Tendinitis

Tendinitis is another common affliction that can affect many different parts of the body. Resting and icing this area can help short-term, but surgery could be the only option if it becomes a chronic condition.
